National Young Readers Day is celebrated on the second Tuesday of November every year during National Young Readers Week. Young Readers Day is a holiday that promotes and encourages reading and literacy. The Young Readers Day holiday was created by Pizza Hut and the Center For The Book in the Library Of Congress. People are invited to come in to schools and read to the children as celebrity guests. The celebrity guests may be local parents or other guests.
