Libraries may have pamphlets or booklets about the local library or a guide to the library. You may want to see a map or picture of the library showing where to find books. You could apply for a library card at the checkout center. You and/or your children could also ask the librarian(s) at the checkout counter some questions. Many public libraries have activities or events for youth at the libraries. People may sometimes read stories or books to children in a public library.
